Lessons Learned from the Shootings
We are literally shooting shooting our future down. Look at the attached picture and comment to me which one of these young smiling adults does not matter? Which one does not deserve a future?
I flew out of Dallas on the day a group that was peacefully protesting the tragic shooting of our young black men had it erupt into chaos as a result of sniper gunfire. As we all are aware that gunfire ultimately cost the lives of several law enforcement officers.
My lifetime goal has been to leave a lasting legacy of success to my daughters but WE are destroying the chances of this being achieved. My heart is heavy with what we are doing to ourselves, our children, and our community. It is bad enough with the way we are burdening our youth with our spending habits that they(our youth) have no chance of recovering from because of them being so strapped with legacy costs. However, these shootings and lives we are destroying has to stop. The madness has to cease.
I am huge proponent of having firearms and honestly possess a multitude of firearms but I think we should lock them away until all of us are mature enough to possess them. All of us including people in authority that carry them as a Carpenter carries a skill saw. We need to get in our community and meet to remove these lines that are having us square off with each other.
We should feel ashamed of ourselves. We should be outraged as we watch the videos of these young men gunned down as well as the loss of those brave individuals that were gunned down in Dallas. Make no mistake this isn’t a black issue or a law enforcement issue, but OUR issue.
We need to quit tolerating all the rhetoric that goes on in our political community as well. Quit watching and participating in it and it will cease. All our lives matter, especially the lives of our youth so let us give them a chance by taking the high road because right now the low road ain’t working. So look again at the picture of these young adults and tell me which one does not matter or deserve a future? All we have is love and it is time we started using it… It is a verb…
Love it! Couldn’t agree more.
Well said! We need to come together as one so we can live in Peace! Enough is enough! We need to love one another just as God loves us: unconditionally.
Truth right here! Thanks for sharing Mr. Lee! Praying for our beloved United States. Although we are not very United.
No we aren’t very United but I have faith that we will all see our role in correcting it…
